My dear visitors: I’m very very very tired. I’ve got a lot of things and projects to work on and this post will be short.
For today I prepared a set of pretty simple snowflakes symbols for download. They are in Adobe Illustrator symbols format. I created them myself (without any help from third party specialized software), so subscribe to my newsletter - download for them free - and enjoy!
Love

Thank you! I was going crazy trying to make different snowflakes in Illustrator, this saved me hours.
I’m glad I can help. Thanks for downloading!

how do I change the color of the snowflake ?
How to colorize the symbols or even change their shapes: select all symbols and use the “Break Link to Symbol” - now you can manipulate shapes and colors until the dawn breaks or until you’re happy with the results - whatever comes first :)

Thank you for the fantastic snowflakes. This saved me loads of time and frustration!
thanks bsilvia, is there a a certain version of Illustrator that has this capability. When I add one symbol to my project I have the option “break link to symbol” however when i selectthat option with only one symbol it did not seem to give me the ability to edit it. Andwhen I use the symbol sprayer and select all of the symbols the break link to symbol option goes away. I am assuming it may be something with my version but it is version 11
I’m using CS (11) too.
When using Symbol sprayer tool you can change colors (and outlines) in “Appearance window” (Window -> Appearance window)
Hope that helps

Another option:
“Shift+F11″ - now you have “Symbols” window opened. Select your sprayed snowflakes. Click on “Break Link to Symbol” icon (3rd, down at the Symbols window). Now you can select one by one, whole together… and change them colors.
thank you for this posting. so helpful.
cheers
You must have spent a while making all those snowflakes, they look very elegent. I do like the lighter ones best, though.
