Guys, just couldn’t help it. Woke up a bit earlier today and just had to put this wedding invitation design idea on the “paper” :)

If you like it, here is a layered .psd (Photoshop CS3 - Download available after subscription) file which is, at the same time, a tutorial explaining how I got that engraved effect on the paper. Download will be available subscription free for next 5 days (as usually).

  1. 1. Add brush to a layer above paper background
  2. 2. Emboss it (In this sample Height: 2, Amount: 26%)
  3. 3. Change Layer blending mode to Luminosity
  4. 4. Edit -> Transform -> Flip Horizontal
  5. 5. Ctrl+Click on Layer with brush to create a selectio
  6. 6. Select -> Modify -> Contract (1 or 2 pixels) -> Delete (this will allow paper texture show up on the engraved area)
  7. 7. VOILA! That’s it!
