I got one really interesting email the other day. One of our Gang members just got Smart car. And of course, she’d like to “pimp it up” with some nice graphics. So, she asked if I have any suggestions on how to decorate it.
Personally, I am a “Smart” fan. I fell in love with this car ever since I saw it for the first time back in 1999.
Well, what can I tell you. I didn’t need much convincing. Actually, it was a great fun to use some of the vector graphics and illustrations from my little shop and prepare several mock-ups. Although all of my Photoshop brushes are in High resolution, in this case it is much better to use vectors.
So, basically, as long as you provide the graphic that you’d like to have on your car in vector format, the car graphics company will be able to print it out and stick it to your car.
OK. Here are some samples created with my vector graphics. I hope you’ll like it:
Sample one: using various Swirls similar to my Swirls Vectors set (16) with a little touch of Spring Birds Vectors set (65). Purple.
Sample two: simple black floral shapes with thorns directly from Vector Floral Shapes set (30) – on sale now!
Sample three: cute girly graphic with flowers and swirls colored in pink.
Shapes are taken from Vector Floral Shapes set (30) .
Sample four: green environmental floral swirls similar to the Swirls 2, Photoshop brushes set (36)
Sample five: cool floral graphic in blue-gray tone similar to the Floral Signs Photoshop Brushes set (20).
Again, this is all done in vectors. I hope you liked it! If you have any other ideas, send them over and share it with us!

I’ve been thinking about taking the whole Photoshop brushes thing to the next level. Say … animating it.
It could be cool for video scrap booking, or should I say, scrap video. I mean it’s basically the same thing. It’s just that, this time, Photoshop brushes are used in video. So, I played around with After Effects for a while and made this little video. Kind of introduction to the whole new era – VIDEO SCRAPPING!
So, for starters, I made a little video from my brushes and background. This font is actually a brush: Grunge alphabet and numbers with swirls, Photoshop brushes set and a background is from my background set: “2 pack graphics: old grunge paper images 1″.

So, here is what happened. Recently, I got an email from Tammy (GPL Studios).
She said:
“I was taking my son’s High School Senior pictures & realized that he & his girlfriend Casie’s shadows looked pretty cool on the brick wall, so I made a unique image with one of your heart brushes & their shadows. Needless to say, they and all their friends LOVED it, and it’s set as her profile image right now on myspace. (In case you were wondering, I used a gaussian blur & reduced the opacity).”

Here is what Gordeee said:
“… Here is my possibly quickest graphic yet with use of your crack wall over the face etc. I like to use that ‘medium’ especially flaked paint. I’m always looking for some on old doors with my camera (sony DSC). Everything except the statue and roses are manufactured by me even the clock (i did that some months ago).
(Attached) is the cracked wall I used and just cloned it, turned it….and so on.It’s all been done before but i like doing it. The text is psalm 19v17 onward.”

As most of my old visitors and GBG members already know, I am sending my “Antique Frames” Photoshop brushes set as a gift – individually and personally to all of my past and future buyers who take the time and effort to inform me on how they found me. This is my way of saying “Thank you!”
Many people ask me:”Why didn’t you set up an automated system? A simple form where people explain how they found you and they get the brush set to their email address automatically? It’s normal. Everybody’s doing it.”
Well, I don’t know. I could have asked my husband to make such a form and he would do it in no time. But, somehow, I believe that Internet is so full with automated systems, it is so automated that people lost touch with each other. And each and every one of us is a person who deserves respect and personal attention. You are not just a visitor, you are a person, with your history, feeling, emotions, interests … and the way I’m running my blog – it is more like a statement.
I know, it is hard to compete with all those big budget fancy schmancy web sites out there, but I don’t want to compete. I don’t think I should compete. I don’t think that anyone of us should compete for anything in the world. I believe that all of us should just be what we are and that’s all. Individuals who are special just the way we are.
That’s why I did not set up an automated system. That’s why I want to send that brush personally and I think, by doing that I am doing something right. This is no Wall Mart, neither I want it to be. I don’t want you to be just another visitor. I want you to have a name. Just as much as I would respect if you appreciated the fact that the brush set was sent to you personally from the person who made it.
I believe that it a special feeling. And a feeling is what it all comes down to when we make art. Or express ourselves in any form of creativity.
So, what I’m saying is: Don’t let yourselves get automated. Be who you are. Do what you want to do. I know we all heard these kind of words for so many times, but we need to be reminded. So, I am using this opportunity to remind myself too.
