Hi Gang!
After a while, here comes another video tutorial. Because, as always, you asked for it!
Many people ask me how to create Illustrator brushes from vectors and illustrations purchased from my little Graphics-Illustrations.com Shop. So, here it is, Illustrator brushes tutorial and this one is about
Scatter Brushes
As some of you probably know, There are four types of brushes in Adobe Illustrator:
- Calligraphic – simulates a calligraphic pen and follows the center of the path
- Scatter – repeats the object scattered following the drawn path, can be adjusted with a number of options
- Art – this brush just stretches the object along the path
- Pattern – repeats object along the drawn path, it requires different objects for corners (or different end and/or different start tile).
We will talk more about Calligraphic, Art and Pattern brushes on some other occasion and today we will focus on Scatter brushes.
So, here is how to create Illustrator brush, Scatter, using vector (EPS) graphic from my little Graphics-Illustrations.Com Shop:
Before you proceed with the video, make sure to have your Illustrator (any CS version) open and follow the steps from the video on your PC or Mac. You will need to press “Pause” button a lot. After each action press “Pause” and repeat it on your computer. That is the best way to learn. Guaranteed!
If you follow these instructions, after finishing the video you will know how to create Illustrator brushes. Actually, you will now create one ๐
I hope you followed it through, enjoyed it and learned something new today!
Love and peace!
Silvia
