Mission Improbable: Dress Elon Musk (Virtually) In My Shoes
Welcome to my hilariously absurd journey as I endeavored to digitally slip stylish shoes from my shop onto Elon Musk himself. Armed with Midjourney AI, ChatGPT, and a good sense of humor, I dived headfirst into this challenge.
Round 1: Knocking on Midjourney AI’s Door
I fired up Midjourney with a carefully crafted prompt: “very realistic photograph of happy Elon Musk wearing these shoes, advertising image, focus on shoes” What I received, however, were some peculiar images of some guys with different looking shoes then expected. My digital fashion mission was off to a rocky start!
Round 2: Sprinkling in “Full Body”
Undeterred, I added “full body” to my Midjourney prompt. This time, Elon Musk graced my screen, but shoes from my shop were still missing. It seemed like Midjourney had a singular focus: Musk sans shoes from my shop.
Round 3: Blending Chaos Ensues
Next up on the docket was the blend option, mixing photos of Elon Musk generated by Midjourney and shoes from my shop. The results were… unique, to say the least. It was some guy who was wearing what looked like shoes from my shop and becoming the shoes!
Calling In Backup: ChatGPT to the Rescue?
In a bid to change my luck, I turned to ChatGPT. It suggested: “Generate a full body photo of a happy Elon Musk, wearing the shoes depicted in the attached photo”. With renewed hope, I entered the prompt, and yes, shoes that looks like shoes from my shop appeared. Cheerful Elon Musk? Nowhere in sight. And the third image is a bit disturbing. And why do those photos contain some text at the bottom, like a link or copy right? Would anyone really want to copyright that?
Taking a Swing at Photoshop Beta
As my last line of defense, I summoned Photoshop Beta with its generative and content-aware fill and generative fill. The outcome was a mixed bag: the content-aware fill handled non-specific items decently, while the generative fill produced some… interesting interpretations of shoes on Musk’s feet.
Content-aware fill works quite good in Photoshop
Generative fill works a bit strange in Photoshop
The Grand Finale: Elon Musk Sans Shoes From My Shop (For Now)
So it seems I’m back to the drawing board on Photoshop or just patiently waiting for Elon to drop by my shop. Who knew virtually shoe-ing a tech tycoon would be such a comedic rollercoaster? Stay tuned for more of my zany AI experiments!
