What Is Festivus?

Who would have guessed that my little idea from 2023 would take off like a rocket at the end of 2024? Now, here we are in 2025, and Festivus fever is still going strong! If you haven’t heard of Festivus yet, let me fill you in on the best anti-commercial holiday ever.

Festivus is a quirky, hilarious tradition born out of a 1997 episode of the sitcom Seinfeld. Created by Frank Costanza (George’s dad, for those in the know), Festivus was his answer to the chaos and commercialization of the holiday season. With its “Festivus for the rest of us” slogan, this holiday became an instant classic. It features unique traditions like the unadorned Festivus pole, the airing of grievances (where you tell everyone how they’ve disappointed you this year), and the Feats of Strength (wrestling a family member). I mean, what’s not to love?

My Festivus Designs

In 2023, I decided to create some Festivus-themed designs and offer them in my Redbubble shop. Little did I know this would become one of my most popular ideas.
