Barbie Fever: A Pop Culture Phenomenon
The Barbie movie is currently the talk of the town. Fans of pink, cotton candy, plastic, and childhood nostalgia are thrilled. Personally, I’m not as excited. I’m not a particular fan of the character or the franchise, and I don’t like pink – it’s a color that makes my eyes and teeth hurt!
The Inescapable Barbie
However, Barbie is impossible to avoid unless you live without the internet, mobile phones, television, and reside on a mountain where your only visitors are bears, wolves, and owls. So, unfortunately, I can’t avoid this topic either.
I must admit that I won’t watch the movie, so I won’t write or talk about it. The only thing that interests me about this topic is imagining Barbie in different circumstances and avoiding pink. Will Barbie still be Barbie without the sticky sweetness of pink? I don’t know, and frankly, I don’t care. I just want to explore and have fun 🙂

Both have influenced art and design, whether it’s painting, architecture, interior design, or graphic design. Unlike the elegant playfulness of Art Nouveau lines, Art Deco uses simpler sharper lines and geometric shapes.
Art Deco Barbie: A Fresh Perspective
Yesterday I created a logo with the help of Midjourney, the day before that an ad, and today I will work on something different. My contribution (with the help of Midjourney) to the Barbie theme this summer is – Barbie in Art Deco style. Imagine Barbie shopping, in an Art Deco interior, and enjoying a night out – all without a hint of tooth-ache pink color.
