Guys,
I know this is not a blog about environmental and social issues, but still, I need to share this video with you. This video is an eye opener for many of us and I truly hope you too will take 20 minutes to watch it and become more aware on what is actually going on with our planet at this very moment.
The name of this short movie is “The story of stuff” and it can be seen here ->
Excerpt from The Story of Stuff web site:
“The Story of Stuff is a 20-minute, fast-paced, fact-filled look at the underside of our production and consumption patterns. The Story of Stuff exposes the connections between a huge number of environmental and social issues, and calls us together to create a more sustainable and just world. It’ll teach you something, it’ll make you laugh, and it just may change the way you look at all the stuff in your life forever.”
And this is a little preview so you get an idea on what makes it so important for all of us who share this little planet of ours:
Please, take 20 minutes, call a friend or someone to watch it with you The Story of Stuff Movie ->

LadyAgora,
I was just thinking the same thing. One of my next projects will go in that direction. I’ll design a T-Shirt or something in the spirit of environmentalism. I might even contest to motivate others to do the same.
We must protect our earth from the major threatening of Global Warming. Its been horror when i am thinking of the Earth after 100 years. I can’t predict how many years the human life would be…
Thank you Silvia!!! Ignorance is MOST definitely not ALWAYS bliss! These are VERY important issues that will have an effect upon each and every one of us as well as our future generations.
KUDOS!
BIG HUGS,
Linda 🙂
Silvia, I am back after viewing this MOST incredibly informative video clip. While I am VERY aware of MOST of what Annie has explained from her decade’s worth of travel and research, I have learned some new things as well and am MOST grateful for you posting this.
I will do my part as well and post on my blog sometime this week. This TRULY is FAR too important to simply sit on. We DO need to get this information out!
I don’t know how things are in your part of the world, but my main topic of conversation with my family and close friends here in the US lately has been about our quality of life and how much more can they rob from us before there is an uprising of some sort. The way I see it, for those who are “blue collar” workers, retired, disabled, etc., the rising fuel costs and lack of health care are taking away the average person’s ability to enjoy much in the way of recreation. Many are now only able to afford to travel to work and home again, no longer able to afford a weekend drive to the country or to visit relatives, etc. The stress alone put upon those who cannot afford health care or ADEQUATE health care is enough to make any one ill. Stress plagues us more now than any of us could have ever imagined. Stress brings about many illnesses. Stress kills. We are plagued with emotional and environmental stresses as toxins stress our physical bodies. The consumer is being consumed!
Thank you again for sharing and I hope that this will help to open more eyes and inspire more of us to become pro-active in protecting our planet, which in turn will protect each and every one of us living on it and those yet to.
Hugs,
Linda 🙂
