Gang,
I don’t know of you heard about the terrible crime that happened in Ukraine. OK. Here is from The Guardian:
Thousands of stray dogs have been killed in Ukraine over the past year – often poisoned or injected with illegal substances in an effort to clear the streets before the championship takes place in June – outraging local and international animal protection groups.
Now, football is a big deal in Europe and despite the fact that it’s only a girls or young boys game in the States and Canada, Europeans are just “killing for it”. Literally. So, what they did in Ukraine, in order to “clean up” the streets before the Euro 2012 football championship, they just killed thousands of stray dogs and cats.
I know, I always try to keep it positive and “high spirits” on my blog, but things like that just make me mad. So, how can anyone enjoy the show, sports, soccer knowing that thousands of innocent animals had to die for it?
A while I ago I wrote about my participation and my volunteer work for the local animal shelter. Being a designer and photographer, naturally I help by photographing dogs which need to find a home and by designing calendars, fliers, badges, posters.
So, today, I am presenting a poster I made for the local animal shelter. I guess they could just send it for printing to some of the on-line printing services and sell it or distribute to various sponsors. The cat on the poster my legendary Poofah who has been checking all of my Photoshop brushes before they were made available for purchase and, believe me, she is a tough quality control cat :))
In this post, I would like to thank PrintRunner.Com for sponsoring this (and other posts) and thereby making it possible for me to continue writing and creating graphics that you will like.
Thank you guys, love and hug each other, love your animals, cats, dogs and remember, no soccer game is worth an innocent life.
