Few weeks ago, just before the sunset, Maneki showed up in front of my house. This yellow eyed cat just sat there and starred at me for a while. Then, she stood up and walked confidently towards me brushed against my legs, purred a bit and after few minutes of introduction we knew, she is here to stay.
I don’t think I ever saw such a straight forward and confident cat in my life. Even though I was a stranger, she was not showing any signs of fear. She was pretty sure I am the right person, she had full confidence that I will give shelter to her and her yet unborn kittens. Yes, she was pregnant. Her big belly showed that it it won’t be long before she brings more kittens to life.
And then, about ten days after, it happened.
She gave birth to six adorable little kittens right there, on a blanket in a box I prepared for her in my garage. Three of them are white, two are gray and one is yellow. I made sure that she has enough food and water and that she was warm and comfortable there.
Even if I did not have two cats in the house already, there is no way that she would want to give birth and raise her kittens in the house. We were just to close there and cats always want privacy and intimacy at the time of birth. They also intend to keep it that way until kittens are old enough.
They are beautiful little creatures, these kittens and, believe it or not, I already managed to find homes for all them (never underestimate the power of Internet :)) However, they will have to stay with me until Christmas, at least.
So far, I manged to take one photo of them – every day. I hope I will be able to continue to do so for as long as they are with me. It will make a beautiful photo album one day.
And here is Maneki, mother of six:

O.K. This was a story of Maneki. It is not finished yet, but I hope her kittens will have long and happy lives. She will stay with us and I will surely do whatever I can to make sure that all little kittens come to the hands of people who will love them and in return they will always bring smile on their faces and peace in their homes.
Love you all guys! Stay well, give love to all living beings and be prepared to receive love and blessings too.
Yours,
Silvia
