In modern civilization, meaning nowadays, we are conditioned to admire those who entertain us. Now, there is nothing wrong with it, we all like to be entertained, but at the same time we totally ignore those who share their wisdom with us. How many people today know about Lady Gaga? And how many know about Marcus Aurelius?

Now, Marcus Aurelius was totally cool guy. Not because he was a Roman emperor (back in the 2nd century BC), but because he was totally cool philosopher. And wise. Very wise. Of course. Here are some of his quotes:

You have power over your mind – not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength

Waste no more time arguing about what a good man should be. Be one.

For more words of wisdom by Marcus Aurelius, I highly recommend his book “Meditations“. It has inspired many great minds since he wrote it. The original title was “To Myself”. (Don’t we all make “notes to self” from time to time?)

Now, I could go on and on writing about Marcus Aurelius, but we are here for graphics related stuff and it occurred to me, since I am such a big fan, why not making a TShirt for Marcus Aurelius fan club? We have TShirts of famous singers, actors, movies, cartoon characters, and this is all fine, but doesn’t Marcus deserve at least one TShirt with his name and face on it? I’d say yes! And I’d wear that! And since no one (as far as I know) made it, well, there you go, I will make it and I will show you how I did it. Making of Marcus Aurelius Fan Club TShirt

Basically, after tracing a Marcus Aurelius jpg file it was quite straight-forward.

I picked one of the designs from InkSpiration bundle (the one in red frame), added Marcus Aurelius illustration, moved the other elements a bit and voila! (No need to mention that all fonts were already there.)

And, finally, I uploaded this design to RedBubble and it was automatically applied not just to TShirt but also to all kind of other items … (click to see them in RedBubble).

Now, I am not sure if anyone will find this as cool as I did. However, it did not take up too much time to do it and it was fun making it!
